MUDr. D. Palenčár, PhD

Drahomír Palenčár MD. PhD. is the head of the Clinic of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University and UNB Ružinov, Bratislava, Slovakia.

He is also appointed as the chief medical expert for plastic surgery at the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.

He works as a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine and is responsible for the education of students as well as young doctors who want to become plastic surgeons.

Drahomír Palenčár MD. PhD studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University, which he successfully graduated in 1992, and received his certification for plastic surgery in 2006.

As a plastic surgeon, he has gained an excellent reputation not only in Slovakia but also abroad. He is known for his precise work and incredibly wide range of surgical techniques, with which he has successfully operated on many patients.

He has completed numerous study stays focusing on reconstructive microsurgery and breast surgery as well as aesthetic procedures. He gained his experience in world centers such as New York, Stuttgart or Taipei.

Currently, due to his high level of expertise, he is even a trainer himself, whose opinions and observations are highly valued and accepted. He is the only plastic surgeon in Slovakia who performs reconstructive microsurgery, and his work is known in the field of hypopharynx reconstruction, breast reconstruction after ablation, facial reconstruction after facial nerve damage (nervus facialis). He is the head physician of the Cleft Center in Bratislava.

He also specializes in oncological surgery when extensive resections of head and neck tumors are needed, as well as reconstructive hand surgery for congenital defects and post-traumatic conditions.

In aesthetic surgery, he is a specialist in breast surgery (breast augmentation with implants, own fat, breast modeling, breast reduction), abdominoplasty (removal of excess abdominal skin), facelifts and mini-invasive facial and body procedures.

He is the president and member of professional medical societies: President of SSPECH (Slovak Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery), which is a member of the Slovak Medical Society.
